Chin-Lin Ching, MD
Chin-Lin Ching, MD, is associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She is the new associate chair of diversity, equity, and inclusion for the department of medicine at Highland Hospital, where she partners with other equity officers at the University of Rochester, to face racial and other disparities within the health care system.
Dr. Ching graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in health and society, and English literature. Early admission to the University of Rochester School of Medicine meant that she could spend her senior year studying English literature abroad, in Bath and Oxford, England. Her interest in medical humanities led naturally to palliative care and ethics after her internal medicine residency.
Board certified in internal medicine, and hospice and palliative medicine, Dr. Ching leads the palliative care consultation service at Highland Hospital, part of the University of Rochester Medical Center. She is also the co-chair of the hospital ethics committee.
