FAIR Health Launches Shared Decision-Making Tools for Palliative Care
A new FAIR Health website feature is now available, which combines clinical and cost information for patients and families living with serious and chronic illnesses. These tools were created as a layer of support during the process of shared decision making with clinicians, across three palliative care scenarios: 1) Kidney dialysis for patients with kidney failure; 2) Nutrition options when swallowing is difficult; 3) Breathing assistance.
CAPC's director, Diane E. Meier, MD, shares, "Having witnessed the need for clear and accurate information when making critical health decisions during chronic and serious illness, I am heartened by FAIR Health's effort to promote shared decision making for patients and caregivers when they most need clarity and guidance."
