Home-Based Palliative Care Has Grown In Popularity, But Expertise Lags, Report Finds
CAPC's Brynn Bowman, MPA, was quoted in a McKnights Home Care article about the 2024 Serious Illness Scorecard. The article focuses on how, while there is an increase in the number of Medicare Advantage plans offering home-based palliative care as a supplemental benefit, challenges remain, such as the workforce shortage and access to care. Per Brynn, “There is a growing understanding that all clinicians must have the knowledge and skills to deliver the core components of palliative care. This is especially true in home-based care, where a majority of people living with serious illness spend their time."
