New CMS Guidance Supports Pediatric Palliative Care Access
In an interview with Palliative Care News, Allison Silvers, chief of health care transformation at CAPC, shares how new guidance from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) aims to improve access to pediatric palliative care. She noted that the guidance outlines best practices for state Medicaid programs and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to reduce inconsistencies across states. They also cover early and periodic screening, as well as diagnostic and treatment (EPSDT) requirements.
