New Dementia Guide Provides Best Standards of Care
Today, the National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI), along with Aliviado Health and the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), has launched the NPHI "Dementia Care Resources Provider Guide" to support home care for individuals living with dementia and provide caregivers, including families, with the necessary skills and information to ensure patient safety, comfort, and well-being while reducing caregiver burden. With an estimated 6.7 million Americans currently living with dementia, which is projected to double by 2050, the guide addresses the urgent need for effective resources and support.
Per CAPC's CEO, Brynn Bowman, MPA, "In our quest to improve dementia care in the U.S., we've heard from countless health professionals who are eager to improve the quality of life for their patients with dementia but want guidance on where to start. We're thrilled to have collaborated with NPHI and Aliviado to create practical resources for hospices and other health care organizations supporting people with dementia, and their caregivers."
