A study finds people living with metastatic spine tumors have a greater understanding of palliative care than the general population.

A study published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine sought to understand barriers to palliative care among people living with metastatic spine tumors (MST). The researchers found that patients with MST are usually referred to palliative care due to symptom management, and compared to the general population, people with MST had an accurate understanding of palliative care, though one-fourth of those surveyed did not know what palliative care is.
