Study Explores the Experiences of Older Adults and Caregivers in Home-Based Palliative Care Settings
A systematic review and meta-synthesis of 25 studies, published in Seminars in Oncology Nursing, examines the experiences of older adults (aged 60 and above) and their caregivers in home-based palliative care settings. The findings reveal significant barriers, including mobility limitations, fragmented health care systems, and caregiving challenges such as insufficient training and support. The study calls for a dyadic approach to care, emphasizing the interconnected experiences of patients and caregivers to inform and improve future care models and policies.
