Study Uncovers How Other Specialists See Palliative Care to Improve Outreach Strategies
A study published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine examines misconceptions non-palliative care clinicians have about palliative care by uncovering unconscious thought patterns (“deep metaphors”). Then, researchers used the metaphors as a foundation to improve future outreach by developing four messaging strategies for outreach and messaging of palliative care. The study points out that other specialties' understanding of palliative care are due to differences in the goals of various disciplines.
