National Palliative Care Research Center (NPCRC)
The mission of the National Palliative Care Research Center (NPCRC) is to strengthen the science of palliative care to inform both rational policy and best clinical practices. The Center’s primary function is growth of the palliative care field’s research capacity through support for early- and mid-career stage investigators. NPCRC also supports the field by establishing priorities for palliative care research, and furthers studies focused on improving care for patients and families living with serious illness.
CAPC and NPCRC aim to rapidly translate research findings into clinical practice. As sister organizations located in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, CAPC and NPCRC collaborate to produce reports from the National Palliative Care Registry™ data, publish the State-by-State Report Card, and support palliative care growth and quality through other research initiatives.
