Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is the premier funding organization for patient-centered, comparative clinical effectiveness research in the United States. PCORI supports studies that empower patients and their caregivers to make more informed health care decisions.
One such study, the Comparing Optimized Models of Primary and Specialist Services for Palliative Care (COMPASS-PC), aims to enhance access to and improve the benefits of palliative care for all hospitalized patients. This important research is being led by the University of Pennsylvania, with CAPC serving as Education Partner. Key health care systems involved in this study include Trinity Health and Kaiser Permanente Southern California, with additional contributions from the Duke Clinical Research Institute and the National Patient Advocate Foundation.
