Overview

At least one in five people in the US are living with a disability, including physical limitations, cognitive difficulties, or serious mental illness. Evidence shows that many of these individuals receive poorer quality health care and, as a result, experience serious illness at much higher rates than those without disabilities. Palliative care, with its focus on holistic, person-centered care, is uniquely positioned to address the complex needs of people with disabilities. However, many clinicians lack specialized training on how to effectively care for this population, leaving gaps in accessible and equitable care.

In this webinar, Sarah Quinto, MA, CFRE, will share practical strategies and best practices for clinicians so they can deliver equitable, high-quality palliative care to people with disabilities. Participants will learn how to identify and address barriers to care, promote accessibility, and ensure person-centered care that respects the unique needs of this population.
