Overview

In this webinar, led by Billy Rosa, PhD, MBE, and Kimberly D. Acquaviva, PhD, MSW, participants will learn about the importance of providing palliative care that is inclusive of LGBTQIA+ people (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual). Faculty will present emerging research findings with a focus on clinical practice and policy implications to ensure that all clinicians have up-to-date research on this patient population.

Professional and personal examples of what LGBTQIA+ inclusive care looks like will be shared throughout the discussion. Participants will leave with practical strategies to transform care for all patients and families, such as specific communication needs and approaches. This ensures that care is inclusive of LGBTQIA+ patients and families, and interdisciplinary clinicians are supported with the tools needed to support lifelong learning and self-reflection. Finally, attendees will learn strategies to ensure that policies and practices are inclusive of LGBTQIA+ people.
