Description
Franciscan Hospice is the sole hospice agency in the South Sound with an inpatient hospice unit, offering the highest level of care to the patients in our community and exceptional support to our clinicians who care for them.
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Full-Time Hospice Physician to join our dedicated team at Franciscan Hospice. As a Hospice Physician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive palliative care to patients facing terminal illnesses. This opening is for the Tacoma Metro Area and is office-based with the opportunity for home/facility visits, inpatient unit work, and the added flexibility for intermittent remote work. The schedule is Monday-Friday with rotating call coverage.

Requirements include:
-- MD or DO degree
-- Board certified or eligible
-- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hospice or palliative care, or a related field working with terminally ill patients
-- Washington State Medical License and DEA in good standing with no restrictions
-- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-- Passion for providing compassionate end-of-life care
Responsibilities include:
-- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and assessments for hospice patients.
-- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
-- Manage pain and symptom control, ensuring patients' comfort and quality of life.
-- Provide medical guidance and support to patients and their families.
-- Serve as the medical expert on the hospice interdisciplinary team.
-- Participate in ongoing medical education and quality improvement initiatives.
