Where
Duke Cancer Network / Scotland Regional Medical Center
Laurinburg, NC, United States
Description
This is a neat opportunity for an ambitious APP to build a program in partnership with the Duke Palliative Care team (collaborating with Dr. Chris Jones from Duke), the Duke Oncology Network, and Scotland Regional Medical Center's Cancer Center in Laurinburg, NC.
We are testing a new way to bring palliative care to a rural area, a model that if successful can be scaled across smaller communities nationwide. In this model, the successful applicant will build and staff a new outpatient palliative care clinic based at the Scotland Cancer Treatment Center. This cancer center is part of the Duke Oncology Network, an academic-affiliated cancer care program that provides oncology care to people at 5 different sites in North Carolina. The APP will serve as the centerpiece of the program, but will not be left to practice without support. This position includes frequent virtual interactions with the collaborating physician, who will travel to Laurinburg every other Monday for tumor board and a full-day shoulder-to-shoulder APP/MD clinic.
