"The thing about palliative care for me, and I think for every patient, is you have an objective, supportive team that is there to help you live through your cancer."

Larry's Diagnosis: Larry is a 75-year-old living with stage IV lung cancer.

Larry's Palliative Care Story: Larry loves spending time outdoors, traveling, reading, and being with family and friends. Throughout his life, whenever he caught a cold, it often triggered asthma symptoms. During one episode, Larry visited urgent care and had an x-ray. The scan revealed a spot on his upper right lung, and he was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer.

Initially resistant to palliative care, Larry soon realized how much it improved his quality of life. Living with cancer brought unexpected stress, and the palliative care team helped him manage this stress, while also guiding him through treatment options and discussing his goals of care.
