Anne Kinderman, MD

Dr. Anne Kinderman is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and provides clinical care as an attending physician in the UCSF Division of Palliative Medicine.  Dr. Kinderman additionally serves as the Medical Director of Palliative Care at the San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living, developing palliative care services for adults receiving skilled nursing care.  Between 2009 and 2021, she served as the Director of the Supportive & Palliative Care Service at San Francisco General Hospital, a role in which she helped to develop inpatient and outpatient palliative care services and led numerous quality improvement and educational initiatives.  Dr. Kinderman’s scholarly work has included developing a curriculum in palliative care interpreting for professional medical interpreters, promoting high-quality care for vulnerable patients with serious illness, and expanding palliative care services in safety net health systems.
