Loren Pogir
Loren Pogir is the Founder and Managing Partner of Transforming Care Partners (TCP). With 30 years of experience in strategy, finance, and leading multi-stakeholder initiatives in healthcare, financial services, and philanthropy, Loren leverages her expertise to transform the experience of aging, serious illness, and end-of-life care. She has helped to fund, launch, and improve serious illness programs, served as the evaluation partner California Health Care Foundation’s efforts to scale palliative care, and was the lead author of “California’s Palliative Care Evolution: Celebrating Progress and Shaping the Future”.
Before founding TCP, Loren was the Managing Director at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, where she oversaw a $40M annual grantmaking program in patient care. During her tenure, she led a strategic refresh process that resulted in the Foundation approving a funding portfolio focused on serious illness care.
Prior to her transition into philanthropy, Loren held leadership roles at BlackRock, including Chief Operating Officer of the BlackRock Investment Institute and Director of Corporate Strategy. She began her career in health care strategy at Ernst & Young, is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds an MPA from The University of Texas at Austin.
Loren also serves as a Strategic Advisor to Grantmakers in Aging and is the Executive Director of the San Francisco Palliative Care Workgroup, a local coalition dedicated to raising awareness about serious illness services in racially and ethnically diverse communities in San Francisco.
