Sasha Perez, MPH
Sasha Perez is the Senior Program Manager for Professional Development and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Research at the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
As a PhD candidate at the University of Utah College of Nursing, Sasha’s research focuses on the experiences of care partners for homebound Hispanic older adults with serious illnesses and their access to equitable healthcare. Her work also explores healthcare inequities among underserved older adults, including those with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and other chronic conditions. She has co-authored several publications and presented her findings at national conferences.
Sasha is deeply engaged in community service, serving on advisory boards such as the LEAD Clinical Trial Community Advisory Board and the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Alliance Latino Community Building Advisory Board. Her contributions have been recognized with awards, including the Hispanic Leaders in Community Engagement Travel Scholarship and Mount Sinai’s STAR Award.
