What You’ll Learn

Learn techniques for supportive communication with people living with dementia, and their caregivers, to help them prepare for the challenges they may face as dementia progresses.

Learning outcomes for this course include:

  1. Discuss the importance of early communication with people living with dementia, and their caregivers, about what to expect as their disease progresses.
  2. Explain the physiological brain changes that occur as dementia progresses, along with pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies.
  3. Describe important issues related to caregiver support and planning for the future for patients living with dementia, and their caregivers.
